A Day at the High Line

Yesterday my fiance and I had a romantic afternoon stroll across the High Line in NYC. Yes I can be romantic…sometimes! Anyway for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, the High Line is a historic freight rail line that ran across the west side of Manhattan in it’s glory days. It has now been preserved and converted to a park for all to enjoy!

We started off at the entrance on 30th street between 10th and 11th avenue and walked our way downtown. Spring is finally starting so you will notice some plants beginning to bud like these here:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Besides the wonderful plant life they have here, you also get to walk alongside some old train tracks from back in the day:

This place is also sort of an outdoor art museum, several interesting buildings and other works of art  await you as you continue walking through.

It was a nice relaxing time, we had fun walking around and taking pictures of everything that interested us. I would very much recommend walking trough here with your significant others or family members. There is a part of the High Line we were not yet able to access that is going through renovations.
