So I’m breaking from tradition just a little bit and doing an indie artist spot for two weeks in a row. Why you ask? You’ll find out later. Anyway, this week I had the pleasure of listening to The Flowdown! These guys are not your typical band. See their music is comprised of Jazz, Rock, R&B, Hip Hop, and Reggae. A lot of different and very awesome influences in there.

This five piece band includes Adam Ahua, Srikala Kerel Roach, Gavi Grodsky, Lavando Thomas, and Pablo Eluchans. Their debut release “Metamorphosis” was released back in 2011 and you can stream the entire album below:

If you want to download it simply head over to http://www.theflowdown.bandcamp.com to get it. Now you could download it for free but these guys are giving you the option to pay whatever you want to pay for it including zero bucks. I would suggest that if you do enjoy the music, show them some love and support and buy it. I mean that would only encourage even more great music to be produced from them wouldn’t it?

My personal favorite track off the album would have to be Sneaked out (Livin’ and Lovin’). The track starts of almost ambient sounding before bringing in that funky jazz accompanied by some reggae style rap vocals and leading up to a dreamy hook. The bridge right before a smooth guitar solo consists of a back and forth rap and singing repetition of the line “Don’t stop livin’ and lovin'”. This was the highlight for me on the album.

You can check out more of their stuff by checking out their official website at http://www.theflowdown.com. You can link up to their facebook pages as well as check out some awesome performances on their videos page.

I do hope you guy’s enjoyed this post and do remember to subscribe for your weekly dosage of amazing music. To keep up with the latest updates follow me @rahat_music on twitter. Happy Thursday! (Tomorrows Friday!)
